Stormbringer: SelfDrilling lost most of his appeal when he pivoted to normie content. He's competing in an oversaturated market full of Fugtrup's and HydraFX's and BulgingSenpai's. I can point to several artists that have done high quality work with all of FF7's characters, I have no need to care about 'this' artist or 'this' work in particular. Drills never claimed that underage fictional content is "wrong" or "a problem" tho (at least not in the sense that you're implying); he stopped doing it because "the problem" with specifically 3d underage fictional content was that it was (AND STILL IS) getting harder and harder for the creators of it to find places that are willing to host it. Even many sites specifically dedicated to underage fictional content have a ban on the 3d stuff for being "too realistic" -- which can get them in trouble with the law. Ergo, his accounts and videos kept getting taken down, thus denying his supporters the access the stuff that they paid for, in turn denying him revenue. It wasn't a situation that made either him or them particularly happy and it was getting increasingly untenable.
Also, no, his patreon still being active at the time he made this decision does not invalidate the point. First of all because he still used to have way more accounts than just his patreon -- accounts that got shut down. And, secondly, in the case of patreon, everyone could see the writing on the wall that you've apparently missed: They were pushing for rules that would allow them greater privacy-invasive insight, which poses a high legal risk to creators of "too realistic" underage fictional content, making it so that Drills (and many other creators of such content) really needed to start looking elsewhere and/or outright change the kinda content they were putting out.
Yuffie is, thankfully, one of those characters who's easier to slip past the "no underage content" restrictions with at least, so now we've got this stuff to look forward to if nothing else... But you having a vandetta against Drills over this and behaving as if he betrayed you or fucked over his supporters is, and always was, and always will be, just plain fucking silly. Like, wtf, get your head out of your ass, dude; if you think people are willing to risk going to prison just so that you can get your Sarah pron, and then behave as if they caved to pressure when they decided that their freedom is more important than appealing to your fetishes, then you've got a serious personality flaw.

He stopped doing it years ago, long before Visa/Mastercard started cracking down on Pixiv and other websites. He could have easily left Patreon for SubStar or Pixiv Fanbox, or any of the other alternatives that existed back then. That's several more years he could have been making loli content and making money off of it with zero limitations whatsoever. Even to this day you can still host loli content pretty openly on Unifans and make money from it, there really isn't a barrier. Also, it is a betrayal when an artist makes a name for himself on loli, builds up a dedicated fanbase, then up and abandons them to chase normie trends on social media. You lose your soul when you commit yourself to the algorithm, and make the same drek as everyone else. Now, the guy is nigh indistinguishable from his rivals. A friend of mine even fell victim to it, it's never a good thing. You would almost rather they retire for good and never post again then do something as ill-advised and scummy as that.

Now, COULD Drills have continued making underage content for several more years? Maybe. Heck, maybe he could have been churning out content featuring Sarah getting used as her daddy's obedient little cumslut until this very day if he had decided to stick to it... But if he was feeling the heat and decided that it wasn't worth the risk, or if he felt that it was too much of a bother to keep opening accounts that just kept getting shut down, then he was in his full right change lanes...
