ihatethiswebsite123: This is actually a great representation of how our desires turn us into slaves. Even though we should be satisfied with what we already have, we always crave more. We always crave for things that are new, more luxurious, more aesthetically pleasing even though what we already got serves us well. This in turn weathers us in a variety of ways, such as physically, emotionally and financially, for we are so blinded by the our greed that we cannot take a moment to analyse ourselves and our very own actions. Epictetus, a stoic philosopher who lived in an era where people had to get off staring at walls, said a phrase that echoes to this day: "Who is the rich man? He who is content."
